Through integrative and experiential practices, therapy actively addresses protective patterns and limiting beliefs, supporting a more grounded, aligned way of living.

Integrative & Trauma-Informed

Individual Therapy For Adults

Many people come to therapy feeling defeated by chronic anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, and self-criticism. You may be longing for a steadier internal state, increased security in your relationships with yourself and others, or a more aligned way of living. This work supports slowing down, turning inward, and attuning to what is shaping your experience with clarity and compassion.

Emily weaves thoughtful dialogue with experiential practices, including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, and somatic expression to address developmental and relational conditioning that continues to shape present-day patterns. This work helps you reconnect with your intuition, heal unresolved wounds, and develop greater psychological flexibility to support emotional steadiness, healthier relationships, compassionate self-understanding, and a stronger connection to your inner truth.

For Deeper and More Focused Healing

Trauma-Informed Therapy Intensives

Intensives may be supportive if you feel ready to move through specific stuck emotional experiences or address the deeper roots of suffering that weekly therapy does not always reach. You may notice that standard sessions feel too brief, or that you need greater uninterrupted time to process trauma, integrate new insights, and establish meaningful change. Intensives can often be more accessible with a busy or variable schedule when weekly sessions are too challenging to maintain.

Emily uses EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, somatic practices, guided visualizations, and mindful awareness to lead you through extended therapeutic work. Intensives allow time to transition out of daily functioning, move into deeper experiential work, and integrate what emerges before returning to everyday life. Intensives offer a tailored approach to address specific goals, themes, or challenges. For many, this focused approach supports shifts that may otherwise take weeks or months to access.

Frequently Asked Questions

What You May Want to Know Before Beginning

Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?

Link to Open the Accordion

Individual therapy and intensives are offered virtually for adults located anywhere in Colorado. Intensives are also available in-person in Buena Vista, CO on a limited basis. In order to protect the integrity of the therapeutic container, please treat your virtual connection similarly to an office visit by joining from a private location, limiting distractions, and considering your needs for comfort and focus. The Women’s Monthly Support Group is in-person only to encourage group connection and cohesion.

Do you accept insurance?

Link to Open the Accordion

No. All therapy services with On Becoming are self-pay. Credit, debit, HSA, and FSA cards are accepted and billed following the completion of your visit.

Can I use out-of-network benefits?

Link to Open the Accordion

Yes. Many clients choose to submit superbills to their insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Emily can provide a superbill upon request; however, a formal diagnosis is required by insurance companies in order to use these benefits. Clients are responsible for the full session fee at the time of service. Please check with your insurance plan to confirm eligibility and reimbursement details.

What is your cancellation policy?

Link to Open the Accordion

Consistency in therapy is important for building trust, supporting nervous system regulation, honoring the time reserved for your care, and maintaining a reciprocal therapeutic relationship. Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours notice will not be charged; less than 48 hours notice will incur a partial late fee; and less than 24 hours notice will incur the full session fee. If multiple sessions are missed or cancelled, Emily will discuss pausing sessions or provide referrals for care that may better suit your needs.

How long does therapy usually last?

Link to Open the Accordion

New clients are encouraged to meet weekly at first to establish the therapeutic relationship and lay a strong foundation. Most clients continue weekly or bi-weekly for at least six months. Emily’s approach often supports meaningful change within 6 to 12 months, depending on individual needs and goals.

How do I know whether individual therapy or an intensive is right for me?

Link to Open the Accordion

Both individual therapy and intensives focus on trauma reprocessing. The difference is less about depth and more about what feels accessible for you right now, both logistically and within your nervous system. Individual therapy offers steady, ongoing support, while intensives provide a more structured, focused format for working with a specific pain point or traumatic experience. Intensives may be used as an adjunct to individual therapy, whether you are already an established client with Emily or you have a separate therapist that you want to continue working with. Emily will help you determine the right fit during a free 30-minute consultation.
