Therapy for Embodied Growth

GROUNDED in presence, rooted in compassion, guided by intuition

ON BECOMING is a trauma-informed, integrative approach to psychotherapy for those longing to expand beyond the constraints of fear and self-doubt to experience greater embodiment and an aligned life. Serving clients in Colorado, EMILY ROTERT blends mindfulness and experiential practices with thoughtful dialogue to help people return to the present moment, reconnect with their intuition, and act with greater authenticity and integrity. ON BECOMING is a practice of personal evolution to heal your past through meeting yourself in the present.

What Healing Makes Possible

A more connected and
empowered way of being

On Becoming helps you develop practices that support steadiness, presence, and a deeper connection to who you truly are. Through trauma-informed therapy and experiential work, you learn how to navigate your inner landscape with clarity and compassion rather than confusion or self-criticism. Healing becomes an embodied experience that allows you to relate to the world through your intuition and engage in life with greater intention and self-trust.

Therapy with On Becoming supports:

  • Less emotional overwhelm and a stable internal state
  • A calmer, more regulated nervous system
  • A deeper connection to intuition and inner wisdom
  • A stronger sense of self-compassion and self-worth
  • Healthier, more secure relationships
  • Less dependence on reactive or protective coping
  • Greater confidence in making aligned decisions
  • A renewed sense of meaning and fulfillment

When Life Feels Painful or Purposeless

A gentler way forward

Many people come to this work feeling constant tension between their brains and bodies, pervasive self-doubt and criticism, or a sense of feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward. You may be carrying old patterns that once helped you survive but now prevent you from feeling grounded and whole. Therapy creates space to slow down, listen inward, and honor what is asking for care and attention.

You may be experiencing:

  • Persistent anxiety, insecurity and emotional distress
  • Feeling disconnected from your body or your sense of self
  • Difficulty trusting your intuition or making decisions
  • Repeating relational patterns that feel painful or confusing
  • Feeling stuck in narratives that no longer reflect who you are
  • Moving through grief, transition, or uncertainty
  • Using coping strategies that feel hurtful or self-defeating
  • A longing for more meaning, presence, and ease

Trauma-Informed
Therapy Intensives

Intensives offer extended time to promote transformative change, especially when the root sources of distress feel difficult to access within standard sessions. This format allows for sustained engagement with stuck experiences and holistic integration of what emerges. Emily uses EMDR, parts work, mindful awareness and guided visualizations to support meaningful shifts that can unfold more quickly and deeply.

Monthly Support Groups

This in-person monthly gathering is created for women-identifying adults who want to explore life philosophy, spirituality, meaning, and purpose in community. Each meeting offers a supportive space to reflect on the deeper currents that shape your life, share insights, and consider new perspectives together. Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles, the group invites participants to clarify their core values and explore how to live in greater alignment with them.
